I keep getting "new services added"" popping up on my tv , I've retuned but can't get rid of it. Can anyone help me

My remote won't turn on my digital TVs receiver

In various channels every so often there is picture break up, and this was the reason I bought this digital box as the old one I had was having picture and audio break-up, so hopefully someone will be able to help me. Have sent online emails to Goodmans but they have never replied which is very unprofessional of them.

Thanks

I have had nothing but problems since I installed this box. I unplugged DVD player, Video recorder player, Freeview box and TV. I then plugged in TV and Freeview box only. Pixilation on BBC channels and some other channels. Have re-scanned so many times. At first thought it was the strong winds blowing my arial about, but no, even when there is no wind, I still get the pixilation. There is something rattling inside the Freeview box and I only bought it in February, but have lost the receipt. I think I bought it at Tesco Millhouses, Sheffield.

MUX on UHF Channel 58 only received at low signal ( in red ) so none of its channels detected and stored BUT adjacent MUX on UHF Channel 59 received at very good strength even though they are both on 100KW erp.

This model arrived today, as a replacement for the same model that packed up about three months ago.
Anyway, I have followed the instructions to the letter, but;

The installation window did not appear

The remote control will switch the box from standby so I'm getting a green light but nothing else

There is no display on the front of the box

None of the buttons get any kind of reaction

EPG does nothing

I am getting programmes on my tv using its handset, so it's acting like an aerial/booster, but I cannot select programmes via the digi box

its not this model but after a couple of days , it starts turning its self off to red button , then turn its self back on again say , I have channel 5 on it will reset t say channel 2 , it I unplug it for a week or two , then reset it up again it will be okay , for 3 days again then it starts all over again , any ideas to this prodlem ,

the picture freezes every time i use the remote

I completed the setup procedure for the Goodmans box; had 174 new services added; all seemed to be ok; and BBC1 came up ok. Then after about a minute the TV froze and I could do nothing via the freeview remote control. The only action which would recover the service was by rebooting the box (by unplugging / re-plugging power). I have tried this several times, and the service initially seems ok, but then freezes after about a minute. Can anyone help please ?

Solution 1: This box does not support recording. You have the wrong part number.

Problem: I can no longer change channels with my remote, and thought it might be the remote that is the problem, but the light on the set top box is a strange amber colour , never red or green , as it was when working . Before I waste money on a new remote, can anyone tell me if it is likely the set top box has given up the ghost.
Changing batteries has not helped

Solution 1: I have the same box and the same problem. It's not the remote. I had this box for about six months when it started doing this. I took it back and got a replacement box immediately (no questions when I told them the problem!) which was fine up until about a month ago when it started doing the same thing again. It might be overheating.

Long story short, my (fairly unsatisfactory) solution is to switch it off at the mains and switch it back on again, which should temporarily rectify the problem. I don't think these boxes are particularly reliable but unfortunately, there don't seem to be many people making freeview boxes any more. If it's less than a year old, take it back, if not, keep the receipt when you get another one.
